Three-Way Mixed Effect ANOVA to Estimate MRMC Limits of Agreement

چکیده
When evaluating the clinical performance of a medical imaging device, multi-reader multi-case (MRMC) analysis is usually applied to account for both case and reader variability. For task that equates quantitative measurement, an agreement such as limits (LOA) method can be used compare different measurement methods. In this work, we introduce four types comparisons; these differ depending on whether measurements are within or between readers modalities. A three-way mixed effect ANOVA model estimate variances individual differences, which essential step estimating LOA. To verify estimates LOA, propose hierarchical simulate MRMC data. Two simulation studies were conducted validate LOA variance estimates. From results, conclude our unbiased, uncertainty estimation drops number cases increases rises value true increases.

One−way Anova Example
In this example, we reanalyze the soybean yield data, but treat the explanatory variable as a categorical (ordinal) variable with 4 levels and use one−way anova to test for a significant SO2 effect. We can think of the data as samples from four different populations, corresponding to the SO2 concentration the chambers received, with possibly different means. In each treatment group we have 3 ob...

Last week we learned about one-way designs. They examine several levels of a single factor. For instance, we might examine the effect of StudyType (independent variable) on LanguagePerformance (dependent variable). Classroom study Self-study Control Perhaps we think that the StudyType manipulation might only affect one gender or the other. We could do a two-way design whether a second factor, G...
متن کاملClassroom Simulation: Understanding One-way Random-effect Anova
The one-way random-effect ANOVA model is presented, and two simulated datasets are analyzed. and discussed from three points of view: (1) The standard ANOVA table, F test, and method-of-moments estimates of variance components, which can lead to negative estimates. (2) Maximum likelihood estimates of variance components. (3) Bayesian probability intervals for variance components based on flat p...
متن کاملUnderstanding the One-way Anova
The One-way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) is a procedure for testing the hypothesis that K population means are equal, where K > 2. The One-way ANOVA compares the means of the samples or groups in order to make inferences about the population means. The One-way ANOVA is also called a single factor analysis of variance because there is only one independent variable or factor. The independent vari...
